:

sir,

243

5th September 1911.

With reference to the Colonial Secretary's letter of the 31st August 1911 received by me after I had written a accep ting the post of Assistant Crown Solicitor I should like to know whether a mistake has not been made as to the Salary mentioned therein.

I was informed that my post was to come under the third Class and that I understood to be £400 to £560 by £20 annually with Duty Pay of £100.

In the letter referred to above I am offered £480 rising to £540 by £40 triennially, the old Scheme, which from the 1st of July has been abolishad. I do not therefore understand the offer, moreover as mine is a billet declared to be eligible for Cadets to which the Scheme is of Salaries dating from the 1st July 1911 is particularly applicable.

I am Sir

Your Obedient Servant

(594) Pave 17. Hodpor

J.H.Kemp Esq

Crown Solicitor.
